Facilitation mistakes we see in every cohort

The most common mistake is skipping a visible agenda in chat before the call starts. People arrive late, polite, and unsure why they are there. A crisp agenda lowers anxiety and raises candor.

Second, facilitators talk too much when energy drops. We teach short prompts and timed silences so participants fill the space with decisions, not reassurance.

Third, forums end without a follow-up artifact. We practice closing emails that list owners, dates, and what was explicitly not decided.

Finally, we remind readers that facilitation is a craft you can rehearse. Our facilitation lab gives video review because tone matters as much as content when cultures differ across offices.
